Status and Sequels
A lot of the ideas have been slow to move like this old ark. I've been busy and all over the place recuperating from setbacks and fun, and making and maintaining appearances. This included trying to live up to stereotypes and American hyperbole on the nation's birthday. An example follows:

The weekend following included the actualization of a product of John's creative zephyr of continued unemployment. It was a production of a Oscar Wilde-styled play called "Lusty Lord Gabriel" performed at the apartment in Northeast Minneapolis that I will be moving into next month. It stars me, Gabe S-B, Sarah Huff, and Julia Carlson acting as an understudy to the tardy Ellie.

The concept of having shows in this apartment has caught on, and a few are being written at the moment. More on that when we have picked a name and are making fliers like jerks.
This last weekend I made good on a promise from last summer to accompany Shannon to her sister's wedding. It scared me a lot beforehand, but I haven't had an excuse to wear a suit and not look like a total asshole this year, my first prom-less year in five years. It was all pretty painless and fun. Bonded with folks that weren't mine, and took well to free food and drink. I was introduced as my date's "friend" to most people, but I was labeled "boyfriend" when being introduced to the priest who conducted the ceremony. I bit my lip, and went incognito as a boyfriend. It wasn't hard, due to Shannon being a serious sweetheart. Observe:

But. I remain married to justice or America or whatever it is I do. That explanation won't work forever.
At the reception, the wonderful band Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapels played. They also came back and stayed at the Walter house with us, where they ate canned octopus which appeared out of nowhere and got mumbled incoherently at by me. I felt like a man in a cockpit of a large and intoxicated megazord. The subject of this rambling remains a mystery to me (and likely them also), so I will avoid eye contact with them under the worst-case scenario assumption that it was a racist tirade or something of the sort.
The world I'll be interacting with over the next week(s) will remain dangerous and busy, and I think I'm glad about that. My parents are in Greece right now, which marks my mom's first time out of the country in her 56 years. Their enjoyment of this wedding is extraordinarily important. Trust me.
This past week marked two very important events in the dorkosphere which I observed very closely.
The first was the release of The Dark Knight, which I saw at the Imax a few days early due to the fortunate job perks and generosity of Emily Geary. The film kicked my head all over the place in the way that I love a movie to.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this.
Everything else is in the process with me. We'll see where this goes.
